Formación Técnica Especializada en Oil & Gas y Petroquímico
Procainsa offers in-company technical training for the Oil & Gas and petrochemical sector, delivered at the client’s facilities or at our headquarters in Terrassa (Barcelona). Our course portfolio covers critical areas of corrosion engineering: cathodic protection, stray currents, inspection and maintenance of buried and submarine pipelines.
All our courses apply the “learning by doing” principle: a high practical component, carried out whenever possible on the client’s own facilities, which allows theoretical content to be transferred to real field situations.
TRAINING
Tailored training, adapted to each team
We work with very different profiles within the same organization: from recently graduated engineers joining the technical area, to senior maintenance personnel with years of plant experience. That’s why each in-company training is adapted to the team’s starting level and the real assets they work on, instead of starting from a generic curriculum.
Available modalities
On-site training at your company
delivered directly at the client’s facilities, on their own equipment and assets.
Training at our facilities
controlled environment combining training with technical visits.
Customized training for companies
content and duration adjusted to the specific needs of the team and sector
Available technical training courses
Corrosion course
Basic training on corrosion mechanisms in industrial facilities: types of corrosion, factors that accelerate it, identification methods, and general prevention criteria. Aimed at both technical personnel new to the area and maintenance teams needing to reinforce their fundamentals.
Aimed at: junior engineers, maintenance personnel, newly hired technicians.
Format: theoretical-practical, with real cases from the Oil & Gas and petrochemical sector.
Maintenance and operation of cathodic protection systems
Course focused on the daily operation and maintenance of already installed cathodic protection systems: potential verification, anode and rectifier maintenance, interpretation of field measurements, and detection of system anomalies.
Aimed at: maintenance and operations personnel responsible for in-service cathodic protection systems.
Format: practical, preferably carried out on the client’s own cathodic protection system.
Control and Mitigation of Stray Currents (AC and DC)
Specific training on the identification, measurement, and mitigation of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) stray currents, a phenomenon that can significantly accelerate the corrosion of buried infrastructure near power lines or traction systems.
Aimed at: engineers and technicians responsible for installations exposed to external electrical interference.
Format: theoretical-practical, with exercises in measurement and data interpretation.
Inspection and Maintenance of Buried and Submarine Pipelines
Course on inspection techniques applied to buried and submarine pipelines: fundamentals of DCVG, CIPS, and ECDA, defect classification criteria, and planning of maintenance tasks based on inspection results.
Aimed at: technical personnel for maintenance and integrity of buried or submarine assets.
Format: theoretical-practical, with the possibility of a field session on a real installation.

Why train your team with Procainsa
- Over 35 years of real field experience applying these techniques, not just teaching them — each course is built from real engineering projects in corrosion, cathodic protection, and asset integrity.
- NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certified trainers, the international reference standard in corrosion engineering.
- “Learning by doing” methodology: we prioritize hands-on practice on the client’s real installations over purely theoretical training.
- Tailored in-company training: we adjust the curriculum, duration, and depth level to the actual profile of the team, from recent graduates to senior personnel.
- ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 quality certifications, which guarantee a rigorous approach also in the training field.
- International presence: experience training teams in projects across Europe, North Africa, and South America.

Frequently asked questions about in-company technical training
What does Procainsa's in-company training consist of?
It is technical training delivered directly at the client’s facilities, or alternatively at our facilities in Terrassa (Barcelona), adapted to the team and the real assets they work on. We apply the principle of “learning by doing”, combining theoretical content with practical application on the client’s own system or installation whenever possible.
Do the courses grant NACE certification?
No. Our courses are taught by NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) certified technicians, which ensures that the content and methodology follow international reference standards in corrosion engineering. However, they are not preparatory courses nor do they issue NACE certification for the student; this is Procainsa’s own technical training.
What employee profiles can attend the training?
The training is designed to adapt to different levels: from recently graduated engineers joining the technical area, to senior maintenance personnel with years of plant experience. The content and technical depth are adjusted to the group’s starting level.
Can the training be delivered at our company's facilities?
Yes. In-company training is carried out directly at the client’s facilities, which allows working on the real equipment and systems of the installation. We also offer the option of delivering the training at our facilities in Terrassa.
How long does each course last?
The duration is adjusted to the content and the team’s level, as each training is custom-designed. Consult us by indicating the course of interest and the team’s profile to receive a proposal with detailed duration and content.
What is the minimum or maximum number of participants?
The number of participants is defined according to the client’s needs and the training format (more practical or more theoretical). Contact us to adjust the group to the type of course and available facilities.
